Machias Seal Island is ten miles off the coast of Maine. It is the largest nesting location for Atlantic Puffins on the east coast and is also a home for Razorbills which co-exist nicely with the Puffins. Both are members of the Alcid family and live at sea in the winter and nest in burrows on remote islands in the summer. The Puffin is about 13" and the Razorbill about 17".
